Billie And The Bell is a new trio consisting of singer Billie Koppel, pianist Frank Hasselstroem and and guitarist Joel Gjærsbøl Pedersen – all experienced, distinctive musicians with a past and present in bands such as The Savage Rose and Catbird and as instrumentalists with a large number of Danish artists. With Billie Koppel’s unique and dreamy vocals and organic, atmospheric arrangements, Billie And The Bell debuts on February 12, 2021 with a self-titled three-track EP consisting of covers by Tim Buckley and Antony and The Johnsons. You get a good insight into the trio’s both fragile and strong musical presence via a live video from Rally’s, where the three perform ‘Song To The Siren’ by Tim Buckley. Billie Koppel talks about how the band came to be: “When we (Billie and Frank) at one point had to make a live recording and video for Møn Sessions, we needed a guitarist, and got Joel recommended. It felt like magic from the start and we started playing together in different contexts. Later we went into the studio to record an EP. The sound that we found together on the EP, we wanted to work on with our own songs for our next album. Therefore, it was natural that the two projects merged into a new band. “
